Launched in 1954, the Submariner is quintessentially one of the most popular watches in the public imagination. Made famous by film productions and water sports, it has acquired fame to the point of becoming a men's must-have.
Produced since 1967, the Ref. 1680 was the first to be equipped with a date display.
It is famous for the name Submariner in red, hence the nickname “Red Script”, which was specially highlighted on the dial to make the model distinguishable.
The timepiece we are presenting, produced circa 1970, belongs to the MK4 family, distinguishable by the thickness of the Submariner graphic and the font of the number 6, still open and not closed. It is characterised by a “ghost” insert and a folded link bracelet. It is preserved in excellent condition with details that make it unique.
